Earth Plant Based Cuisine Does Vegan Mexican Right

Earth Plant Based Cuisine

Grand Ave. District - 1325 Grand Ave

If you’re looking for vegan food in the Valley, you really only have one good option per neighborhood—this isn’t Portland, LA, or Seattle. Fortunately for those on the western side of downtown, Earth might be the best vegan spot in the city. The menu has a lot of your typical vegan fare—wings, a burger, and alt-milkshakes (the milkshakes here are really pretty amazing)—but the real star of the show is the Mexican food. You’ve got elote. You’ve got flautas. You’ve got tacos. You’ve got chilaquiles and huevos rancheros on the brunch menu. If you’re dying for animal meat, you can always go to Testal or Bacanora, both of which are next door, but if you’re looking for a full Mexican vegan spread, Earth is your spot.

What to Get

Veganism incorporates “love for animals, love for the planet and love for yourself,” according to author Mischa Temaul. It should also include “love for flautas.” We recommend the ones from Earth, a plucky little plant-based spot in the heart of the Grand Avenue Arts District.

Start with the Boss Nachos made with fresh veggies and a creamy vegan cheese sauce or elote with vegan mayo, cotija cheese, chile and lime.
